Nancy Long

Nancy was formerly the Vice-president of Strategy and Organizational Development at Group Health Cooperative and the Director of Quality for the Washington State Hospital Association and Washington Health Foundation. As Director of Marketing in 1995-1996, she dramatically expanded participation in the Basic Health Plan. Her experience with nonprofit organizations includes being the Director of Planning, Marketing, and Community Services for Pac-Med, a founder of the Cross-Cultural Health Care Program, and various roles with community health clinics.
Nancy has expertise in strategic planning, organizational development, public policy, marketing to underserved populations, and process design for effective decision-making. She has led nonprofit boards, chaired the Seattle Planning Commission and organized coalitions of community organizations. She has a Masters degree from the Evans School at the University of Washington where she was an affiliate faculty member teaching courses on management and leadership of nonprofit organizations. She is currently a member of the Visiting Committee for the Executive Masters of Nonprofit Leadership Program at Seattle University.
Nancy is also the President of Next Chapter of Puget Sound, an affiliate of Civic Ventures. Next Chapter works to connect people in the second half of life with opportunities for self-discovery, learning, service, and meaningful work so they can share their skills, energy, and wisdom to create a stronger more vibrant community.
